About Cyera

Cyera is a data security (AI cybersecurity) company that helps large organizations identify, understand, and protect their most sensitive information.

It was founded by Israeli cybersecurity veterans Yotam Segev and Tamar Bar-Ilan in Tel Aviv and has grown quickly with significant backing from venture capital investors.

The flagship product is an AI-powered data security posture management (DSPM) platform that scans cloud-based and on-premises data to pinpoint the most sensitive data. It then flags high-risk access points and empowers teams to fix vulnerabilities before they become breaches.

The company is headquartered in New York City, with a large engineering presence in Israel. In the data security posture management space, it competes with players such as Varonis and BigID and is widely regarded as a rising leader.

As companies feed more sensitive enterprise data into corporate AI tools, Cyera is positioned to continue benefiting from the criticality of cybersecurity management.

Ownership

Cyera is a venture-backed startup owned by its founders, employees, and multiple venture capital firms.

Notable venture capital investors include Accel, Sequoia, Goldman Sachs, Evolution Equity Partners, Temasek, Blackstone, Soma Capital, Lightspeed, Greenoaks, Sapphire Ventures, Coatue, Georgian, Spark Capital, AT&T Ventures, Cyberstarts, and Artisanal Ventures.

Valuation

The latest confirmed Cyera valuation is $12 billion based on the Series G extension announced by the company in September 2026.

IPO Potential

Cyera may be approaching an exit. The company has raised enough funds and is far along enough to be an IPO candidate.

A company representative told CTech in April 2026:

But comparisons are already being made to Wiz, another Israeli cybersecurity startup that Alphabet acquired.

Considering the accelerated interest in data security due to the rising risks of rogue AIs, larger players may be sharpening their knives for a takeover.

An S-1 filing is the most accurate sign that an IPO may be forthcoming.

The intent to move forward with an IPO is usually leaked to the press long before the S-1 filing becomes available to the public.

How to Invest in Cyera Stock

Having surpassed a $12 billion valuation, the company may see its shares (or SPVs’ stakes) traded on secondary marketplaces.

However, availability remains quite limited, so most investors will need to wait until the IPO to invest.

Here are some options for owning Cyera stock before, during, and after the Cyera IPO.

1. Invest Pre-IPO

Pre-IPO investment platforms may offer Cyera stock for purchase as employees or early investors seek to sell some of their shares before the Cyera IPO.

Accredited investors may access shares, provided they are registered on the platform and receive notifications about their availability.

Monitor pre-IPO investing platforms such as Augment, Clarity, Forge Global, and EquityZen for share availability.

If shares become available, expect to pay at least a $10,000 investment minimum, often more.

Non-accredited investors can invest in pre-IPO companies via venture capital funds targeted at retail investors. But none of the more notable funds have acquired shares as of publication.

2. Participate in the Cyera IPO through a broker

Cyera leadership has indicated it wants to have the option to IPO. Patient retail investors may eventually get a chance to invest.

When a startup goes public, investors with online brokerage accounts can sometimes buy the stock at the IPO price.

Some online brokers (listed below) allow investors to invest in IPOs at a low entry point, even if they have limited funds in their accounts.

Here’s a more complete list of the best brokers for IPO investing to learn more about IPO access for retail investors.

3. Buy Cyera stock after the IPO

Most investors will have to wait until after the IPO to invest.

Waiting for the IPO has advantages, like access to more established financials after the first quarter of trading.

High-demand companies (especially in hot industries) may have exaggerated valuations at their debuts. Early investors can benefit by attempting to sell when the stock begins trading.

These initial price surges can often lead to falling stock prices as the euphoria subsides.

Stock price declines can be excellent entry points for recent IPO stocks. Avoid buying overvalued shares immediately after the IPO due to lockup expirations and earnings disappointments.

However, the most disruptive companies may perform better over a decade, so patience is key.

Conclusion

Cyera is now one of the best-funded private companies in data cybersecurity and in Tel Aviv, backed by a long list of well-known venture investors.

Its platform identifies sensitive data across cloud and on-premises systems, flags risky access, and helps teams prevent breaches before they occur.

Investors are watching closely as sensitive corporate data volumes increase, which should create durable demand for this kind of protection.

The company is not public, has not filed an S-1, and has given no timeline. So, anyone hoping to buy shares today has limited options through secondary platforms or has to wait.

Two paths are most likely according to recent reports: 1) a public offering (preferred by founders) or, 2) a sale to a larger vendor, similar to how Wiz succumbed to Alphabet’s aggressive overtures.

Readers should verify the latest information with the company’s official announcements and press releases and monitor the SEC website for new filings.

Pre-IPO and IPO investing, including via Cyera stock or IPO, carries a high risk and should be considered carefully by non-professional investors.
