About Valar Atomics
Valar Atomics is a nuclear energy startup building small reactors to power industries that need cheap, 24/7 energy off-grid.
Isaiah Taylor started the company on July 4th, 2023. His bet is that fission reactors have gotten too big and slow to build, and that mass manufacturing them (similar to cars) is an enormous business opportunity in the age of AI.
In just a few years, the team emerged from stealth startup to successfully splitting atoms, becoming the first venture-backed company to take a reactor critical outside a national lab.
The small modular reactors aim to skip the grid entirely and sell power straight to industrial customers like data centers and heavy manufacturing.
The aspirational idea is “gigasites,” single locations fitted with hundreds of small reactors connected to produce enough energy to make clean energy that can compete with coal, oil, and gas.
The company is based in El Segundo, California. The name comes from Tolkien’s lore, where the Valar are god-like beings who shaped the world, a nod to Palmer Luckey and Peter Thiel’s Tolkien naming conventions (Erebor, Palantir, Anduril). Luckey is a noted investor.
The company operates in a crowded nuclear startup scene, but skips the grid and electricity utilities altogether. With serious financial backing and a surging valuation, it’s seen as one of the more viable bets on nuclear power in the startup world.
Ownership
Valar Atomics is a venture-backed startup owned by its founders, employees, and multiple venture capital firms.

How to Invest in Valar Atomics Stock
Valar Atomics is a venture-backed startup that has raised more than $1.5 billion in funding.
At this stage of valuation, pre-IPO shares can become available on various platforms if there are willing sellers and the company approves the sales.
However, it is not large enough to generate substantial volume, and may restrict early shareholders from selling externally.
So most investors will need to wait until the IPO to invest.
Here are some potential options to own Valar Atomics stock before, during, and after the IPO.
1. Invest Pre-IPO
Pre-IPO investment platforms may offer Valar Atomics stock for purchase as employees or early investors seek to sell some of their shares before the Valar Atomics IPO.
Accredited investors may access shares, provided they are registered on the platform and receive notifications about their availability.
Monitor pre-IPO investing platforms such as Hiive, Augment, Forge Global, and EquityZen for share availability.
If shares become available, expect to pay at least a $10,000 investment minimum, often more.
Non-accredited investors can invest in pre-IPO companies via venture capital funds targeted at retail investors.
These funds, such as the Fundrise VCX and Robinhood RVI, are available for purchase on the open markets. But these funds have limited equity exposure to high-demand startups.
So analyze the holdings before investing.
2. Participate in the Valar Atomics IPO through a broker
When a company eventually goes public, ordinary investors can often buy the stock during the IPO at the IPO price.
The Valar Atomics IPO could be five to ten years away.
Some online brokers (like the ones listed below) allow investors to invest in IPOs for free, even if they have limited funds in their accounts.
Here’s the complete list of the best brokers for IPO investing to learn more about IPO access for retail investors.
3. Buy Valar Atomics stock after the IPO
Most retail and institutional investors will need to wait until after the IPO to invest.
This remains the reality for retail investors: pre-IPO access is limited to accredited investors and well-connected venture capital investors.
Though access to high-demand startups is improving for everyday investors, earlier-stage companies like Valar Atomics can be challenging to invest in.
Therefore, most retail investors will be left out of pre-IPO gains.
That said, improvements to regulations and access could provide the opportunity to invest sooner, so monitor the methods mentioned above if you’re looking for access to this company before it goes public.
Conclusion
Valar Atomics is moving fast for a nuclear company, going from a founding idea to an operating reactor in a short span.
The progress shows substantial engineering execution and capabilities.
The company’s high-profile backers (Palmer Luckey, Sequoia, etc.) bring capital and credibility.
The gigasite model, which aims to sell directly to industrial buyers instead of routing it through the grid, could potentially sidestep regulatory bottlenecks that has slowed competitors and legacy nuclear producers like Westinghouse and others.
That model may prove to be a long-term advantage.
For now, ownership remains largely locked up among founders, employees, and venture funds (and their limited partners), so retail access will be challenging for some time.
An IPO is likely years off, but investors can monitor statements from the CEO and leaks reported by reputable news sources.
Anyone genuinely interested in investing in Valar Atomics stock should monitor opportunities on the secondary marketplaces and venture capital funds for access.
